The moment you walk through the door, you are greeted by a cozy ambiance that perfectly marries traditional charm with a modern touch. The rustic decor creates a relaxing environment, ideal for catching up with friends over a cup of expertly brewed coffee or indulging in one of their exquisite cakes.

The menu at Greendale is thoughtful and refined, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Customers rave about the iconic mint and lime bundt cake, which Anne Carpenter describes as "super divine" with its subtly layered flavors that keep you coming back for more. If you're looking for a hearty meal, you can't go wrong with the Bowland Breakfast or the delicious Lancashire Rarebit. As Anna Beck noted during her visit with her family, the dishes are not just food; they are a testament to quality and freshness, beautifully presented and packed with flavor.

One of the standout features of Greendale is its commitment to a personalized dining experience. Reviewers such as Jacqui Shepherd highlight the exceptional service from the friendly staff, including chefs Zoe and Michael, who ensure that every guest feels right at home. Whether you're enjoying a solo afternoon tea or a robust family brunch, you’ll be treated like a VIP.

The scenery surrounding Greendale is equally enchanting. Located in the picturesque Pendle countryside, diners can soak in breathtaking views of the rolling hills while enjoying their meals. Sally Shaw appreciates how the establishment seamlessly blends food with a beautiful outdoor setting, making it a perfect spot for those sunny afternoons.

For a true hidden treasure experience, make sure to try one of the homemade scones, a recommendation echoed by George Walsh. They are simply irresistible and the perfect complement to your afternoon treat.

Wonderful place, fabulous cakes, not had anything else..yet ..the service is brilliant, friendly . The atmosphere is relaxed. I always mean to try another of the fabulous cakes on display but always go for the mint and lime bundt cake. It is super ,super divine. Very subtle flavours but so worth it. Our daughter had a scone and she loved it. Many many thanks to Caroline and Neil and everyone for a gorgeous treat. We will return and I will try something else next time. Well worth 10 stars

Arrived on a wet Easter Monday brunch time. Tearoom was full but service remained lovely and friendly. Coffee here was at one time not so great that has certainly changed for the better, I was served a beautiful really well made coffee. I had the beetroot and rhubarb soup flavour was a delight and the homemade granary bread on the side was delicious . Thank you Greendale Tea Room

A lovely little gem on the Downham Estate. I can’t comment on the B&B side of thing, but as a place to come and enjoy excellent food and scenery, it’s so worth the visit. I arrived on a busy Friday lunchtime service, but on a sunny day that meant I could enjoy scenery with my food. The menu is small and well thought out, making the most of locally sourced produce. So much is home made including bread and cakes. And if you’re not driving, you can have something a bit stronger than teas and coffees. I really enjoyed my open sandwich of hot smoked trout, but I’m gutted that I didn’t have enough room for a cake. I guess I’ll have to go back. Which is no bad thing. Thanks for a delicious lunch.

I am a big fan of the award winning Greendale Teahouse and Rooms and would happily recommend it to anyone looking to stay or dine in the Ribble Valley. The rooms are very comfortable and have great views, the food is exceptional and the unique range of delicious savoury dishes and cakes, means that there is something for everyone. All the food is freshly made on the premises by chefs Zoe and Michael and their passion for delivering the best is clear. The level of service from front of house team Caroline and Neil, plus the attentive nature of chef Michael too, means that you are bound to leave Greendale feeling well fed and well looked after!

We were 5 adults, two toddlers and a dog and had a wonderful lunch. Our table was ready with two high chairs set up and the staff were so welcoming to us all. It's a lovely location, stunning views which you can even see from inside. We all ordered a variety, the Bowland Breakfast, Lancashire Rarebit and Sea Trout. All were really delicious and you can tell it's all fresh produce. They don't have a children's menu as such but they were super accommodating choosing from the normal menu and both children had the pancakes with butter and fruit compote. They were freshly made and so fluffy and they ate it all and loved it. Much better to find fresh food made for children than frozen oven options which most places offer. We all had a scone with jam and clotted cream which were also delicious. They also catered for a gluten free meal too which was great. Overall, a lovely experience and will definitely go back when we're next in the area. Thanks so much for being so kind and accommodating to busy parents and cheeky toddlers!

We visited the Greendale Teahouse set in the beautiful Pendle countryside for a 5 star cooked breakfast. Excellent service, quality produce and a wide selection of homemade cakes, scones and other assorted delicacies. Loved the small, cosy atmosphere and the friendly welcome.

What a fantastic breakfast! The service and food here is excellent and all of the staff including the chef Michael made us feel very welcome. Especially the black pudding and the toast which is made with homemade bread, is on another level! I’ll be back to try the cakes, which looked amazing! My parents stay here whenever they are in the area - I now know why! Highly recommended!

Modern high quality cooking wrapped up in charming traditional surroundings overlooking stunning countryside. Made served and hosted by people with skill who care. Taking a fresh scone away is obligatory! A proper hidden treasure.
